COVID-19 and Supply Chain

Charlotte, NC, U.S.A. – March 13, 2020

Poteet Printing Systems, LLC is monitoring the impact of the Covid-19 Coronavirus daily as well as recommendations from the CDC Website and other reliable resources in regard to travel and business operations. Poteet Printing Systems understands the urgency of this situation and wants to assure clients of our operating capacity and of the safety precautions we have in place at our facilities.

The current situation regarding materials does not pose any direct impact on our ability to produce ink products for the North American Market. While our clients regularly request next day shipments, our materials often require months of lead time and planning. Because of this, we have both large inventory stockpiles and flexibility. Due to our actions in supply chain management in relation to the 2019 Trade Sanctions, our inventory remains at peak levels. This also led to diversifying our primary raw materials sources between various global and domestic suppliers. While the coronavirus situation is still developing, we are confident in our operating capacities’ ability to meet our client’s needs.

Due to the manufacturing nature of our business, it is not possible for our entire staff to work remotely. We have initiated COVID-19 education, tightened visitor policies, and enhanced hygiene processes to protect our staff, their families, and our business operations. We have minimized all business-related travel, onsite meetings with suppliers, and large internal meetings onsite. We have increased employee hand washing and sanitizing of common areas. Moreover, we have evolving contingency plans to allocate staff to different locations and to utilize cross-trained employees in key areas should the situation require it.

If the United States follows the recent actions of other countries or regions, there could be quarantines or containment zones that impact workers, schools, and transportation around the country which could delay deliveries. We encourage you to plan your business needs for the possibility of delayed shipments of materials that are crucial to your timely manufacturing and the delivery of your packaging to clients. We assure you we are taking every reasonable action to minimize delayed shipping on our side. Furthermore, we would be delighted to review by phone or virtually, any usage or projections needed for your planning purposes.

Our plan is constantly evolving and we will take every reasonable precaution to minimize COVID-19’s impact on Poteet Printing Systems’ ability to supply the North American graphic arts industry. Since the situation changes daily with COVID-19, we will keep you advised of any pertinent information you need for the successful management of this unprecedented time in our global economy.
